TURKISH WARSHIP ESCAPES
BOMBARDS A GRECIAN MAGAZINE.
AUXILIARY CRUISER SUNK

ATHENS, January 16
The Turkish battleship Medfideh, slipping out of the Dardanelles on Tuesday-night in a fog, eluded the Greek destroyers and .re-ached Syria at. noon.
The battleship bombarded the magazines and coal depots, hut without damage.
It wrecked the power station
:• The auxiliary cruiser Macedonia, which was being repaired, was moored at the quay. Fifteen shells were fired at her, but the commander sank the ship to prevent her destruction. The crew was landed. Men and women were killed- at the coal depot. The Medfideh afterwards departed for Asia Minor.
