THE BOOT TRADE
CONFERENCE OF MANUFACTURERS. (bv Telegraph.—Press Association.) ' CHRISXCRURiCrL Last Niaht. The conference of representatives of the boot manufacturers of the Dominion, which opened on Tuesday, concluded' to-day. The following official account was supplied by the secretary, Mr T. Hodgson, of Auckland:—'"'We have had a two days' sitting, discussing matters? connected with the trade, and the conference has been very antisfaetory. The result of our deliberations is that in future there will be one Association for the boot manufacturing trade of the Dominion. At present there are two Associations, which are federated, but in future there will be one Association to cover the whole trade in the Dominion." When asked if there was any information regarding the conference to consider the tariff convened by the Minister of Customs, Mr Hodgson said ho had nothing further to communicate.
