MANGAONE OILWELLS
PROGRESS OF BORING. Work at the Mangaone oilweUs is proceeding apace. A Masterton resident who visited the scene of tions on Sunday states that, the Iwre is now down between, 900 ft aud 1000 ft. The percussion drill is being used, the rotary having been placed temporarily out of repair. Gas has been emitted at several stages of the operations, and the borers are still sanguine of success.
