MOTORS FOR THE PEOPLE
There seems every chance that the next year or two will sco a great extension of motoring in England, to people who, until recently, scarcely dreamed of over possessing a car (says the Sydney. Morning Herald's London correspondent). This is owing to the coming ioif a ?-mall type of car, which stands to the motor car much in the same position as :i pony-cart does to a carriage, and of which no fewer than thiity-five different, models are being shown at tho cycle <show at Olvmpia. They are called eyci-v cars, because, -ilthoiigh they look lik-s a tiny motor car, they really come nearer to the motor cycle, and are being made .-"hiefly by cycle (manufacturers. The prices of the can shown at Olympia run from nbou!£7O to £lB5. or. in one case, £240. Thoy are uio-tly built with bioycl l wheels, and n:e nearly all two-seat ers. There are several excellent midels at about '-'l2O to £l4O. At firit sight this does not. seem any cheaper than the cheipest motor ':u - s. but the advantage of course, is that the cycle car .hc-s only about half the petrol, and is far lighter upon i(s tyres.
