SYDNEY January 12

A conference of the Railway Workers and the General Labourers' Association approved amalgamating with the United Labourers in forming a protective societj. The question is to be submitted to ballot by both unions. The scheme aims at the amalgamation of 21,000 workers, covering all labourers in New South Wales. The final objective propounded is the ultimate emancipation of Labour by the abolition of the wage- system, and tho establishment of a co-opera-tive commonwealth.
