STATEMENT BY CLARK. PROSECUTION'S STRONG EVIDENCE. (Received Last Night, 7 o'clock.) CALCUTTA, January 8. At the trial of Chirk, Mrs Fulham and a Hindu for the murder of Mrs Clark, the former's wife, some time ago, Clark read a statement to the effect that he was requested to bring Fulham (the husband of Mrs Fulham) from Muerat to Agra in September, 1911, the Medical Board having certified to general paralysis of the brain. He (witness) consulted Captain Dunn, who is now in England, and evidence would be given later that Dunn advised injections of ether digitalis, and strychnine injections were given. Shortly after this Fulham died. Clark accounted for the possession of •gelsemiiini and cocaine, and named patients for whom they were obtained.
The prosecution produced a letter showing that Clark visited Muerat on 15th June, and Mrs Fulham, writing later, asked if the powders were tasteless, as her husband refused food with the former powders. Another letter described her husband as vomiting and recounted the hosnital's opinion of the case, and added, "but yours- I know."
