The Hon W. H. Hemes, Minister of Railways, with the Hon W. Frnser, Minister of Mines and Public Works, arrived from the Thames to-day, en route to the East Const. The Ministerial party were entertained at luncheon by the Borough Council. The Mayor eulogised Ministers and the Government for the stand tak,en in connection with the recent local troubles, and thanked them for their splendid financial assistance to the hcspital./iint! other institutions r\t a time ; .wben sorely needed. The Ministers left for Katikat; this afternoon, whence tliov proceed to-morrow to Tfuiransra. Te PnH, Onotiki. and Whakatane. travelling along the East Const railway route connecting witb Gisborne.
