BANK ROBBERIES
REWARDS OFFERED. (Received Last Night, 9.o() o'clock.) SYDNEY.. January 2. The' Government is offering a reward of £2oO foi 1 information which will lead to the apprehension, of the robbers of the Bank at Surrey Hills. The directors of the bank are also offering a similar reward, and a bonus of 10 per cent on anv luouev recovered. The branch of the New South Wales Government Savings Bank at Pyrmont ' has been broken into. The branch consists of on 1 one chamber. which was used for receiving deposits. No money was kept there, and the thief sot only stamps, valued at C'l (id, and three cheques, which were net negotiable. A revolver was found. The work was evidently that of a hoy, from the small print of tho bare foot. and the primitive- appliances left behind'.
