( Squally conditions prevailed in many parts last night much rain falling, and some snow mi the higher levvh in the south; \nt the weather has been more- propitious to-day in most parts of the country. Present indications are for moderate to strong southerly winds, and a rising barometer, cool and changeable conditions, with some scattered showers ar o probable for a short timo, ( but fair weather predominating.
