Bates, of the Me**ot rological Office, this ovoning issued the following:— A squall area passed in the south last night, the winds changing to southerly over the South Island. Squally conditions have been experii onced in parts, especially in the south. The weather has been unsettled generally, with scattered showers. Present indications, are for changeable weather, cloudy and misty at ( 'times, with showers and electrical disturbances in parts. The barometer lias a rising tendency, and moderate- ■ to strong southerly winds are probable, but decreasing barometric pressure is likely to follow again soon, i and the winds change to northerly j and westerly and increase in. force.
