STRIKE PREDICTED
AUSTRALIAN INTERSTATE SHIPPING. HIGH COURT'S DECISION. (Received December 18. 8.98 a.m.) MELBOURNE. December 18. Tho High Court's decision in the Merchant Service Guild _ case has caused much dissatisfaction amongst members of that organisation. An inter-State shipping strike is predicted if the companies revert to tho old rates of payment. The men are determined, if the proposals which arc shortly to be placed before the employers are not accepted, that they will cease work in each State.
