MISS CARRIE MOORE.
Miss Carrie Moore, "the idol of the ■musical comedy and vaudeville stage" both in England and Australia, will ,bo seen for the first time'in this, town on Wednesday next, when she will be supported by her own specially organised compnnyj in the latest London musical comedietta "Chips," of which an eminent critic says: " 'Chips' gives ua undoubtedly much food for merriment, being full of spirit .and gay abandon, and in conjunction with music of the bright and lively order, it never fails in its object of entertaining. One always wishes; while witnessing the eccentricities of 'Chips,' that they could go on for ever, so great a factor is it in the lightening of 'Life's heavy burden' as to be almost indispensable." Miss Moore is well-known in the Commonwealth by reason of her past successes in musical comedy under the J. C. Williamson'management, notably in the leading parts of "The Merrv Widow." "Floradora," "San Toy," "The Geisha," etc., whilst in London she has .a great reputation for the characters she created in "Tom Jones," "The Blue Moon" and , "The Dairymaids," whilst her appearance in vaudeville lately throughout Australasia was one long .succession of triumphs, so local patrons are assured of a great musical treat, when this popular young artist appears in Masterton. An excellent combination has been organised to support this charming actress, and as oopular prices of admission are to he charged, a crowded house in anticipated. The box plan is at the Dresden.
