AN HEROIC GIRL
SAVES HER FATHER FROM DROW-NLNG. (Received Last Night, 5.5 o'clock.) FiRJ-M'ANTLK, December 15. An heroic and. successful struggle by a girl. who rescued iter father from drowning, is reported from Rottnest Island. Mr Waters, the lighthouse-keeper at Rathurst Point lighthouse, with his daughter, ago deighteen years, was out fishing in a dinghy, when the craft was "upset by the breakers in a narrow passage. Waters was unable to swim, but his daughter wassa powerful swimmer. Time after time tho pair were washed from the upturned boat, buteach time the girl brought her father back. On several occasions the boat turned over on top of the man. but the girl dived under and dn<?ged him out. After an hour's st-'fgle, help came to hand, and/ the pair were rescued.
