"DEADWOOD DICK."
Jt has been discovered in many party of New Zealand that the minds of young people have been so influenced! by the Red Indian and other escapades displayed by the kinematograph,. that a lively demand has set in for literature of the "Deadwood Dick"-' type. This depraved appetite for the "penny dreadful" cannot fail to have a baneful influence, upon tho rising .generation. For that .reason, wo would urge upon parents the importance of exercising supervision and control over their offspring, and of refusing to permit them to witness kinematograph pictures of the "blood and thunder" type. Tf they were to do this-, proprietors of picture shows would' provide only educative and amusing pictures for the delectation of the young. Failing concerted action upon the part of parents, it may bo necessary for municipal lxwlies to insist upon a censorship of kinematograph' £Tm9.
