MAYOR HONOURED
(By Telegraph—Atfociation.) TIMARU, Last Night. At a largely attended meeting in the Choral Hall to-night. Mr James Craigie, M.P., was presented with a hand some album, containing South Canterbury photos and drawings, and a cheque for £2OO in recognition of his splendid services to the Borough during his t-on years' occupancy of the Mayor's chair. A handsome gold bangle, set with diamonds, was presented to Mrs Craigie. Mr Craigie, when, the project was mooted, said he would devote any such gift of money to the Art Gallery, and this will be done. The presentation was made Iby Mr Robert Bowie, one of the oldest business men here. Mr F, J. Rolleston' thanked the Mayor for his ! gift, on behalf of the citizens, and Mr J. P, Newman, on behalf of the Art Society.
