THE LATE MR BEETHAM.
It is with deep regret that we record the sudden death of another of the pioneer settlers of the Wairarapa and ol Aew Zealand m the person of Mr ■Richmond Beethara. The deceased was in the public service of this Dominion tor over forty years; He wa tS regarded as one of the most able, upright and conscientious, Magistrates who ever sat upon the Bench. A man of artistic tastes, of judicial mind, and of humane instincts, he dispensed justice from the Magisterial bench for wany .years with a quiet, unassuming dignity that gained for him universal respect and esteem. His voung widow will have the sympathy of a wide circle of friends in her sudden bereavement.
