SEXUAL VICE.

l2'o The Editor.J

Sir, —With your permission I would wish to inquire of your correspondent, "A Woman and a Sister," if she thinks the Master's statement "I came not to call the righteous but sinners to repentance," means that the present punishment of the righteous for the sins of malefactors should be confor tH-er, or that all sympathy should be for heartless eensuali: Paul's command "But now I have written unto you not to keep comany, if any man that is a fornicator . . . no not to eat" (i Cor. V.' IL);,should prevent the regenerate from associating with voluptuaries who profess belief in Christianity. Christ did not give a vestige .of hope to those of Eb clay who c tinned in impurity, and in the present ago, when all civilised nations should know of a remedy for that sin, there can be no excuse for any who do . not forsake it. Thanking you in anIticipatiou.—l out, etc.. RICHARD WILLIAMS. 1 PROHIBITION AND. SEXUAL VICE

('To the Editor.) Sir,--What's the matter with Ma.stertcm? Ls it that we have too much pulpit ..oratory? Some ago it was said, "Carry prohibition and everything; in. the ghrdeii will be lovely." Well, sir, you hare, prohibition of a. kind, which prohibits a maJi getting beer for less than a bob. You also have your beer droppers aJid planters, and drinkers, no doubt. You havo the law makers, administrator, and law breakers all in relation to the sale of intoxicating liquor, and in connection with the above von have acute police eppionage; and last* but not k>n,st, you have prosecutions of re>speetable people who are not afraid to drink their beer, and be "lectured by the Magistrate for doing so. What, a lovely garden! 'And all brought abou+ by>pulni,t .oratory. How long, 1 wonder, will the people of this town suffer themselves to be made sneaks and j hypocrites of a-s at present. Your i&- ; sue of to-day bears me out in. the above statement, vide police cases un■der the Licensing Act. Where, I wonder, in tlie world, would citizen# allow I themselves toibeftold by the police that T hear you've got some liquor and "that yon are suspected of palling liquor" without protest, but hero in your town? And where"' but here would a policeman dare., to institute court proceedings on hearsay. It plainly shows that, people are succumbing to the .position of beinic ruled by the two "p/s."
