THE WOOL SALES.

Tho splendid prices obtained at the Wellington wool sales on Friday last have. been the subject of much comment among sheep-breeders in the Wairarapa. Those who were tempted to sell before the sales are now regretting their haste. The question that is being asked by those who are late in shearing, is whether it will pay better to consign,'or to sell locally. There is, of course, an element of gamble in the whole thing. If a farmer is satisfied with a fair price, and lis not prepared to take any risk, he will be well-advised in selling locally. If, on the other hand, he can'afford to wait and take tho risk, he may find it distinctly to his advantage.
