CRITICISES Mil BONAR LAW.
WARNING TO TARIFF REFORMERS. (Received Last Night, 10 o'clock.) LONDON, December 5. Earl Crewe, speaking at Cheltenham, deprecated Mr Bonar Law's recent remark that Britain was entitled to fair play in the Indian markets. He warned tariif reformors against the erection of an Imperial Zollverein and asking India to tako a place, which compared to self governing and controlling her own puree would appear servile to India. The coupling of such a proposal with a claim on India's) gratitude for past .services, was a political indiscretion of the greatest magnitude. Referring to the guillotine, Earl Crewo said it was not altogether a desirablo weapon, but was the only one tlio Government could uso to pass mea.sures, for which the country had long waited.
