Each delegate present spoke on the remit, which has been for some time a much discussed question, amongst the courts and the greater part of the day-was occupied in hearing' the various opinions of the delegates.
The general feeling of those present was that the time is not ripe for an innovation of the nature proposed, more especially as the Central Investment Fund, which at present exists, to a great extent covers the same ground, more particularly as far as interest earning is concerned. A vote being taken the proposal was negatived by a small majority. The business of the conference will be continued to-day, _when further matters of importance will come up for discussion.
