Small birds are doing a lot cf damage to sprouting seed in both iield and garden. In some instiir.oej it is impossible to get garden phr.t; girted at all, owing to this feathered' Rest. A sharp shock of earthquake was felt here on Friday morning ut 4.-45 o'clock, accompanied by a loud report. To-day (Monday) is trucking day for pigs, their destination being the W.F.M. Company's works. Pigs will bo trucked on alternate commencing on the 12th iast. Owing to . the inclement weather, the cricketers' ball was nob largely attended. However, an enjoyable time was spent by those present. The floor was in excellent order. Good music was supplied by Mr and Mrs Phillips, and Mr J. Elliot acted as M.O.
