Tin 1 usual monthly meeting of <ho Council took place on Saturday, the Sotli November, the adjourned annual mooting being taken with it. Crs 0. Churchill Jackson (chairman), J. .Dagg, C. The Waihi Horough Council wrote suggesting that all local authorities require from their employees a. declaration affirming their loyalty to the King and the Hag—The letter was received. The County Clerk. Kketahuna, wrote .stating that liiw Council had decided to purchase, small birds' eggs and heads; while the County Clerk, Mastcrton, replied that his Council "was not prepared at the present time to take any action in the matter." Mr Petersen, Mangatainoka Valley Itoad, wrote requesting slips blocking the road to be removed to allow him to get his wool out. —The. chairman had already attended to this matter. The Clerk of the Akitio County Council notified time and place for holding conference re accident insurance fund. During the meeting a telegram wan received stating that the arrangements made for holding the"'conference had been cancelled. Larson Bros wrote saying the weather had prevented them proceeding with their metalling contracts, but they will start as soon as the weather permits. It was resolved to suspend the standing orders to allow the next meeting of tho Council to be held: on Saturday, the 21st December. ■ The motion respecting which Cr Judd had given notice, namely, the resolution authorising the purchase of small bird-.' eirsfK and heads bo rescinded, showed that the councillors were equally divided on Cio matter, and was only carried on tho casting vote of the chairman. The Council will now cease to buy eggs and heads. Accounts amounting to 1:172 0s Id were pas.'.'vl for payment, €4 .">d Id I being for small birds' eggs.
