ATTITUDE OF GERMANY
RELATIONS WITH BRITAIN

BERLIN, December 3. I Horr von Bethmann Hollweg, Chancellor of the Exchequer, states that whilo Germany is not immediately affected by the happenings in the Balkans, she is entitled to co-operate in the re-organisation, especially in regard to the maintenance of the guarantees to Turkey's creditors. Moreover, in the regulation of affairs there , : are many questions in which Germany will have to lay her word in the scale, in the interest of her allies. The exchange of views between the Powers had, he said, progressed in a conciliatory spirit, and there was every prospect of success. I Herr von Kiderlin-Waechter, Minister of Foreign Affairs, replying to a charge that tho Government had fomented a quarrel with Britain, said that throughout'the- crisis the relationship with England especially had been confidential, frank, and absolutely trustful. Tho exchange of views had not only evoked a gratifying intimacy, but had rendered good service to an understanding between the Powers. He was confident that this would continue,
