CHP.ISTCHURCH, Last Night

The Government has appointed Mr M. 0. Barnett, District Manager of the Public Trust Office, to be Inspector for the Department. * The new duties will commence on January Ist, and he will make Wellington his headquarters. Mr Barnett has been thirty years in the Government service, and has held the post of District Manager in Christchurch for the past twelve years. Mr S. A. Smyth has been selected by the Government to succeed Mr Barnett in Christchurch. Mr Smythft has been for the past twenty years in the. head office in Wellington, and for the last few .years has been in charge rf the largest section of work there, known as wills and trust estates. Mr Smythe is expected to arrive in Cbristclnirch about December 14th.
