LAND BOARD
THE MONTHLY MEETING
Tlio monthly meeting of tho Wellington Land Board was held on Thursday at tho Board's offices, Mr T. N. Brodcrick (Commissioner of Grown Lands) presiding. Messrs J. Dawson, H. T. Ellingham, James Georgetti, and William M'Lellan were also present.
Tho following transfers were applied for and were approved as follow : F. X. Houghton to S. W. Kelscy. Section 1, Block IX, Makuri Approved.
W., J. W., and F. P. Holden to F P. Holden, Section 27, Block II Mount Cere bus. —Approved.
i Mrs B. Cooper to Miss B. K. Cooper Section -I, Block IV., Mangahao.— Approved. " X. and P. Rosenbeek to P. Dough[orfcy, Section to, Block IV, Tararua Postponed for further inquiry. I A. Brown applied to transfer a half interest in Sections 20, Block 1,
and 2, Block IT, Ruahino, to PL A. Belk. —Recommended for approval. The ■application of H. Buckrell to transfer Sections 2 and 4. Block ]l, Mangahao, to Charlotte S. Slack was
recommended. —Approved. H. Burling, jun., applied to transfer Section 6. Block 111, Puketoi, to David Thomas. —Deferred till next meeting for .statement of land held by proposed transferee. The representatives of W. Chis/iolm (deceased) applied to substituto
a sub-lease of Section 46. Block I, Fvpouranga, to H. Niebe:i for remainder of term of lea.se, in place of a transfer previously granted.—Approved on the usual conditions. Mr E. H. Jo'hanson applied for a reduction in tho rent charged him for occupation on Mangatainoka J. IF2B and 2 2C. —ft was resolved that the Ikmrd cannot see its way to entertain his request. Rent to date from February 1, 1911. An application for additional land
was received from H. R. Smith, the lossco of Sections 35 and 36, Pongaroa V.S.. and declined.
G. H. Gillard, who was advises-on j August 12 1910, that the board could not see its way to allot him additional land without competition, renewed , bus application.—Declined. ' Jas. M'Davitt applied for additional land in Puketoi and Mt Cerebus districts.—lt was resolved to decline. A similar application by Mrs Minnie A. Sullivan was also declined. With, regard to the area of 20 acres, \ part of Section -5, Block 11, Puketoi, which it is proposed to allot to Messrs. Olsen Bros, under Section 138 of the Land Act, 1908, it was resolved to fix the price in terms of records 27039-422.
C. M'Davitt, who holds a permit to occupy Section 92, Block VII, Mangahao, from year to year subject to determination at any - time, stated that he had transferred his interest to P. Ryan. Mrs M'Qimin applied for a lease. —Tt was decided to terminate M'Davitt's lease at end of the present year, and to offer for lease by public tender for a term of five years at an upset rental of £2 per annum. The Rev, J. J. Legarth wrote that ho.did not desiro a renewal of his lease of Education Reserve Section 58, Block XIV, Mangaone, which expires on DeeemW 31 next. —It was resolced to offer the land for leasing on, tho usual conditions, .at an upset
rental of £2 5s per annum, as assessed by tho ranger. G. More submitted an agreement between J. W. M'Rae and J. F. M'Rae (vendors) and George Moore, jun. (purchaser) for tho subdivision and transfer of portions of Section 886, Blocks X and XIV. Rewa, in order to obtain a practical fencing line. —Tt was resolved to approve, provided the Commissioner is satisfied. It was decided to hold the next meeting of the board on December 19.
