Brunton, who was a member of tho illustrious New Zealand C ntin<?ont that toured Canada; ■ Tho' evening was occupied by the playing of games, and rifle firing was also'indulged in. During an interval the Rev •Serpoll welcomed Sergt Brunton hack, mid congratulated the Company on their rlrs+ success. He called on Lieut. Andrews, 0.0. of t.L.> Company, to make the presentation. L'eut. Andrews stated that ho was pleased to have Sergt. Brunton in their :nidst once more. He asked Sergt. Bnmtnn to accept, on behalf of the Company, a set of military hair brushes, suitably engraved. Sergt. Brunton, who was greeted with loud applause, thanked the Company for their generous gift, and gave a graphic account of liis travels in Canada. Lieut. .Tackson, B. S. M. Domney and Dr Pryor also spoke. At the conclusion a supper that did justice to the oornsum, was partaken of, and the enjoyable evening was brought to a close with the singing of "For He's a Jolly Good Fellow" and three hearty cheers for .Sergt Brunton.
