WOOL SALES

Messrs Dalgoty and Co., Ltd., Wei- I lington, have received the following I cablegram from their London office J dated"2(>th November, reading: "Wool .sales opened. Attendance of buyers is largo competition animated, and selection good. As compared with last side's closing, merinos and .X-breds 5 to 7K per cent, advance, and merinos 7.V per cent, advance. Scoured merinos 5 to 7$ per cent, advance. Messrs Dalgoty and Co., Ltd., Ade- | laide, cabled on the 2uth inst. as follows: "The wool market is -excited. At to-day's sales, medium . merino wools id higher and good merino Id higher, X-breds and comeback Wools strong demand." Messrs Levin and Co.. Ltd., have received the following cable, from their agents in London, dated 26th Xovember: "Wool sales have opened. Merinos opened at an advance of 7} per cent on the- closing rates of last series, X-brods generally opened at an advance of .5 to 7£ per cent. Largo attendance of buyers, but very littlo greasy X-bred offering."

Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report, as follows: AVe offered a very'heavy yarding of cattle, the bulk of which comprised a special yarding of empty dairy heifers. Our yarding numbered close on 1000 head, the bulk of whif.fi were heifers. There were a large number of good quality heifers oiiered, for which there was good inquiry from Wairarapa and Manawatu clients, who bought most of them. There was not so much demand for ordinary bred heifers, and a ninn!her of thus class were turned out uiiisold. Other, classes of stock sold at | late rates.
