HALF-YEARLY REPORT

(Received Last Night, 7.15 o'clock.) MELBOURNE, November 28.

The half-yearly report of the Mt. Lyell Mining Company shows that ;>. net profit of £106,7-19 was made, and a credit balance on tho profit and loss account of £550,563. The purchase of stock and property was completed at a cost of £18.176.

Referring to the North Lyell disaster, it was stated that estimate was possible of the loss sustained, as there was no insurance on the property whatever. The occurrence, which was regarded as an impossibility, was a very serious one for the company.
