MURDERED BY NATIVES
A WIDOW'S STORY
(Received Last Night, 9.50 o'clock.)
SYDNEY November 28,
The widow of Mr J. H. Davies, representative of Messrs Kerr Bros., of Sydney, has arrived here.
She alleges that her husband was murdered.
Mr Davies, she states, left Tonga, In company with two natives, for the Island of Epi. During the same day the natives return and reported that Mr Davies was dead.
A search party went out and found him in a dying condition, with large wounds on the back of his head. He was apparently attacked while resting, but there was nothing to .show by whom.
The widow complains of want of a proper inquiry, n death certificate being granted, and giving the cause of death as over-exertion.
