BRISK COMPETITION.
ADVANCE IN CROS&BREDS.
(Received Last Night, 10.35 o'clock.> LONDON, November 27.
• At the wool sales, 7180 bales wero offered, including 1188 from New Zealand. There was an excellent selection of merinos, but a poor selection of crossbreds. The attendance was unusually large, and the competition very brisk. Compared with the October closing rates, merinos advanced 1 from 5 to per .cent., sluufty and light-conditioned showing the greatest appreciation. Fine crossbreds were 5 per cent., and coarser 7j per cant, higher.
•Messrs James Macintosh and Co. report having received the following cable message from their London agents: ""Wool Sales —Slipe and scoured advanced, fine 5 per cent., medium and coarse 5 to 7| per cent. No greasy offered."
The W.F.C.A.. Ltd., Wellington, have received the following cablegram from their London agents, under date 26th November: "The fifth series of wool sales opened to-day, and were largely attended by Home, Continental and American, buyers. There was considerable competition. Fine, medium and coarse crossbreds advanced 5 to 7£ per cent., as compared with closing rates of previous sale."
