Acceptances for all events at the YVoodvillo meeting will be received by the secretary to-morrow at 8 p.m. The tracks at Opaki have been in good working condition of late. Hie plough is Specially good, and the work is mostly done there. Sir Knox is striding out very freely in his work, and appears to . have thrown off all signs of the soreness which troubled him last season. It is expected that Palmerston will be the chestnut colt's next outing. Utter, in the same stable, has improved a lot of late, and" seems to stay on better. He will be a competitor in the sprint events at Feilding. A rider has so far not been engaged to ride the Kilcheran horse.
i Sir Solo will also make the trip to Feilding, where the course should suitsuch a free mover. A mile and a, half may be beyond the hay .son of Sir Laddo, who has so far not shown much J staying-ability,*-' - - », ; Brown Owl'is a staunch fa vourrfco for the St. Andrew's' Handicap, in whiqh .she will .have. the. services of, 0. Emmcrson in the saddle. . Crown Pearl is well fancied for the I Flying afc Feilding, but may find Peroneal and Piriwai his equal at the weights. Two Now Zealanders in Wild West and Monoplane ran into places at the Canterbury Park meeting on Saturday. The Native sportsman Rangi Kerehoma who has not had much success . since taking up racing, had the misfortune, to lose King's Favourite at Timaru last week. Warlight, who was also owned by Kerehoma, was sold at the same meeting for 11.0 guineas.- Tt is stated that one or two •additions will be made to this owner's string. T. Higgins, the Masterton trainerowner, had very had luck at Blenheim last week- as many experienced racing men considered that Ladino 'won the four-furlong event on the second day by a good 'half head. Ladino came fast on the outside, and was probably not seen until too late by the judge. Ladino started four times at the meeting. Sinapis is now near the top of the handicap list, and, small as she is, tho St. Ambrose mare seems to carry her weight like a good one. H. Fletcher always turns the mare out in excellent trim.
Longstep. in the same stable, showed some of her best form at Blenheim, when sho placed a first and a second to her owner's credit.
Full rate, who has again been put into work, will not he started until Boxing Day, when he will bo a starter in sprint events. The Officer gelding is looking very robust after his spell, and may be counted upon to run well when the colours are again up, Nat. Williams, the dareville trainer, will shortly be shifting his quarters to Otaki ; where ho will act as private trainer to Mr Hodge, owner of Bally Shannon, Borsil and Co.
St. Bees cannot be of much account. His party were very sanguine about his chances at Blenheim, but he was not equal to defeating weak fields each day.
The stable presided over by J. Prosser at Porirua, has had a long turn of ill-luck, and it is doubtful if this usually successful stable ha& gone for so long a time without producing a winner or two. The Highden and Greenwood colours have also had a -reverse turn of the wheel of fortune. This time last season thes'o stables were almost .invincible. The Karamu stable has also had its share of mis-
fortunes, as apart from not winning many races, the stable lias lost several valuable horses. i Masterpiece, Bon Iteve. Bon Ton, j Bobrikoff, and Golclfmder are the chief '. fancies, for the Auckland-Cup. The \ big northern event promises to be ■ more interesting than usual, as the cream of the Dominion is engaged. The meeting of Bon Bcve and Bleriot during the meeting should in itself be worth going a long way to see. Aucklanders consider the "latter one of the very best nrare.s seen on the New Zealand turf, while Bon Beve has proved '.himself to be an out and I out champion. T. Pritchard, the well-known rider, is at present on a visit to Masterton. Pritchard has had a particularly bad time with Ids broken leg, and has now been laid-tip for eight, months. His many friends will hope to'see hmi in .the saddle soon again..
