CAUSED BY A PRACTICAL JOKER

CHILDREN TRAMPLED TO

DEATH.

(Received November 25, 1.30 p.m.) MADRID, November 24.

A cinematograph entertainment was being held in the Bilbao Circus, the building being crowded, when a practical joker cried "Eire!" A panic ensued. In the rush from the twenty children were trampled to death, as well as several women and a few aged men. Many others were injured. There were heartrending scenes when the. parents were identifying their dead children.

FIFTY CHILDREN KILLED*

CAUSE OF THE ALARM

OWNERS AND OFFICIALS ARRESTED. (Received This Morning, 12.25 o'clock.) MADRID, November 25: Fifty children were killed, but only one woman, though a largo number of women were injured. An operator saw the film burst into flame and cried "Fire!" but succeeded in-extinguishing the flame. The owners and officials have been anested.
