RAILWAY LEAGUE.
MASTER-TON TO WAJPUKURAU.
The Masterton-Waipukurau Railway League held a meeting a few days hack at Pongaroa, a quorum of delegates being present. A letter was'read from R. J. Barton, reporting that a branch had boon formed at Whakataki, and giving the. names and address of the secretary and delegate. Mr W. W. Smith. wrote re the voting of delegates, —Replied to by ibe. secretary.
Other correspondence was jjlso dealt with.
Accounts, as presented, were passed for payment.
It was resolved that the procuring of copies of map be left to tlio secretary.
The approaching visit of the Hon W. F. Mas soy and the Hon W. Fraser was discus>se<L It was suggested that three committees he formed along the route, and- A meeting he held in Pongaroa on November 30tK at 2 p.m. to further the matter, the public and local bodies to he asked to attend.
It was suggested rtiat the voting by branches be as follows: Under i! 0 members, one vote; 20 to 40, two votes; over 'lO, three votes ; no branch to ha.vo more than three. Tim secretary was instructed to write, to branches and: get their (1 P : " nion on the matter of voting.
