The death occurred* on Sunday of the three-year-old son of Mr and Mrs M. G. Olds, of fiketahuna, under , extremely sad circumstances. The child was apparently in tho best of health on Friday afternoon, bnt in tho evening he developed symptoms such as to cause the parents anxiety. Medic-.il assistance was summoned, but the child remained in a delirious condition. On Sundav morning, with the assistance of Dr £owie, of an operation was performed, but tho child never revived and died two hours later. It is assumed (says ihe Express) the cause of death was due. to blood poisoning, followed by a knock on the elbow, of which tbe child made little complaint. The death occurred in the (ireytown Hospital yesterday of an. old settler of the Wairarapa. in the person of Mr John Henry Cheshire.
