MAURICEVILLE WEST. (From our Correspondent.) The funeral of the lake Charle* (Bob) Deadman took place on Friday. The cortege was a largo and representative, one despite inclement "weather. Tho Rev Serpell, of Masterton, •read the burial service. A petition is in circulation her©, and is being largely signed, asking for the appointment of a J.P. The Mauricevillo West Cricket. Club has postponed its social on account of the death of Mr Deadman, a member of the Club. Shearing is proceeding under difficulties, and a certain amount of risk. Much broken time is experienced bv the hands.
