At a meeting of the Timaru branch of the Farmers' Union yesterday, a letter fro mthe Pelorus branch asked for cooperation in. carrying out a. method of enabling farmers to buy and sell stock to each other without the intervention of the auctioneer or dealer, by means of a sort of registration of stock for sale. The branch considered the scheme impracticable, ns the auctioneer is to a large extent the financial agent of the biners. and has a better means of c 1 leeting moneys than the farmers have.
