ir month!V meeting of the Masterton District High School Committee was held last evening, there being present—Messrs R. Brown (chairman) E. Prague]], J. Shackle ton, W. Kemp, W. L. Falconer, A. Chapman, G. Hyde, Gourlay and Threadwell. The treasurer reported a. credit balance of £27 13s. It was decided that the visiting committee inquire into questions relating to the supply of stationery to the school. It wfis decided that the school cleaner be paid the usual yearly bonus of £5. , A number of suggestions were made 'by the members of the visiting committea- with regard to improvements to the grounds at both schools. > It was decided that the report of the committee set up to go into library matters lie held over till next meeting. It was resolved that the whole committee inquire into the alterations necessary to be made to the school tennis lawn, and also deal with general improvements necessary at both schools, the committee to meet at tho High School for this purpose en Tuesday, 19th inst. It was decided that small repairs requiring immediate attention be put in hand forthwith. The headmaster's report was read and approved. Messrs Gourlay, Hyde and Kemp were appointed visiting members for the ensuing month'. Accounts amounting to £2B 4s 7d were passed for payment.
