FLOWER SHOW
(From our Correspondent.) The annual Spring Show of the Featherston Horticultural Society was hold at Featlierston yesterday in fine j weather. Owing to the lateness of the sea- j son and the fact that the recent bad weather damaged the flower-gardens to a large extent, there was a very noticeable decline in the exhibits, particularly in roses and ,sweet peas, which have been a prominent feature of former shows. In other classes the exhibits were satisfactory in quantity, the home produce and sewing sections being well filled. Mrs W. >T. Martin won the prize for the best rose in the room, and also holds the Buchanan Rose Bowl for the ensuing year, as tho winner of tho most points in the. rose class. In addition Mrs Martin secures Mr C. Elgar's trophy for highest aggregate of points in flowers, not including ' roses. The special pride for most [ points in vegetables wa- - . won by Mrs .T. 0. Bidwill. Miss B. Donald won the special prize fnr the host decorated dinner tible. The attendance at the show, both Hi the afternoon and evening was very good, and about, equal to that of former vears
