THE LIBERAL PARTY.
The Dunedin Star, and various other Opposition journals, pretend -.\mI corn for the future of the liberal Party, on account of its being without tho services of a loader. There is no need for alarm on this score. Mr G. W. Russell, the elect of Rccarton, has appointed himself to the position, and with Messrs Witty and ' Isitt as lieutenants, will lead the forlorn hope during the next couple of years. But, after all, tlig Liberal Party, as it was known in the time of. Ballance and Seddon, is no more, tt has passed from the phase of Dominion politics like the vision of a I dream. The real, the true, the only I Liberal Party now in existence is that • led by Mr Massey. The Russeils, and J Wittys, and Tsitts are fooling themselves if they think they can restore the unity between Liberalism and Labour. These are the only two parties that, are possible in th© future politics of the country. The real leulers of the Opposition in the House are Messrs Hindmarsli, Ycitch, Robertson, and, shall Ave say it •• Pavne.
