The overwhelming success of the Democratic candidate in the United States.. Presidential .. election has a special significance for New Zealand: The Democrats are ardenttariff reformers, and one of the planks; in their platform is the lowering of tti9 duty on wool. If this fiscal change is brought about, a new market will open out for the produce of New Zealand and the Commonwealth, and the prico of wool will be maintained for years to conio. The progress of tariff events in the United States will be watched with interest during the next few months.
