Bates, of the Meteo- 1 rological Office, thia evening issued ] tiie iollowuig report: — A (urometer depression Jias developed southward of Cook Strait today. Variable winds have teen experienced with misty and cloudy weather generally. Showers and mi-sty rain are reported in many parts of the Dominion. Present indications are for northerly and westerly winds, are for northerly and westerly winds changing to strong southeries and soutli-easterlies after about sixteen hours in most parts of the country. Rain is probable generally with the rivers high, a.nd some snow on the higher levels. Jn the south a further fall is anticipated, but the barometer -will probably rise 'everywhere ■after from sixteen to twenty hours.
