SUFFRAGETTES.
WINDOW-SMASHING EXPEDITION, (Received Last Night, 9 o'clock.") LONDON, November 6. The suffragettes are on a wrecking expedition, and smashed a number of windows in Oxford and Bond Streets. Two arrests were made. DEMONSTRATION IN ALBERT HALL. LETTER FROM LORD HALDAXE. (Received Last Night, 9 o'clock.) LONDON, November 6. The National Union of Suffrage Societies held a demonstration in Albert Hall. Lord R; B. Halda/ne's letter was read, in which he expressed the conviction., that nothing would keep* back tho cause of female suffrage. Recent events, he wrote, were irrevalent to tho merits of the controversy. He hoped that the House of Commons would underrate the folly of a few fanatics. Sir Edward Grey telegraphed his sympathies. NUMEROUS ARRESTS. (Received Last Night, 9.45 o'clock.) LONDON, November 6. As a protest against.jthe defeat of Mr Snowden's amendment the suffngottes smashed the windows of the Insurance Commissioner's Office. Numerous arrests resulted.
