THE PARK OVAL.
JAt tho Masterton Borough Council s meeting last evening questions relating to the Park Oval were tho subject of much discussion. A deputation from the. Cricket" Council was •successful in placing matters in connection with cricket on a satisfactory basis, and 'in this connection the i Council is to'be congratulated on the vreadiness with .which it-me ! t the wishes. of the deputation which wa a representing the cricketing community of Masterton, The matter of fees for the use of the Oval haa concerned the BoroAgh Gjunei! not a littlo Tor sbme time. past, and it is gratifying to all interested in the welfare of the ancient game that a satisfactory agreement was arrived at. Other questions of equal importance were brought up by councillors, and it is pleasing to note that whatever differences councillors may have on other matters, .there is an entire unanimity of opiInjon regarding Masterton's beautiful park. With the -spirit.at present pr a _ valent in the Council we may look ) u P° n the Masterton Park at no disjtant date as one of the most up-to-date recreation resorts ia the Dominion. It is to be hoped that ihi s end vrill 'always be kept in view, and great i things may be expected.
