MEETING OF STEWARDS

The balance-sheet for the ivoont race meeting v.a;; presented, a credit balance, on tho meeting *;i £520 I4s otl.— The stewards expressed great satisfaction with the (huiuiai results of the meeting. Tt was decided that the starter end Imndieappor be each paid -1:5 to defray their expenses of attending the meeting. The secretary of tho Wellington Racing Club forwarded gentlemoTr's riders' certificates. Mr W. H. Wa.nklyn wrote in reference to accident fees to be paid before horses are allowed to start. Mr J. 0. Hayward forward recommendations for the improvement of the arrangements on the course. For these he was thanked. Mr tllic Shannon was also thanked for certain suggestions he had made. The treasurer reported a debit balance at the Bank of £515 3s -Id. Jt was decided to increase the salary of the secretary by £26 per year. A month's leave of absence was granted the caretaker of the course.
