MANAWATU SHOW.

Our Manawatu friends are to be congratulated upon the success that attended- their annual show. : Unlike the Wairarapa, they , have not had adverse elements to wmtendwith; andthey have kept the flag flying without any undue physical strain. We may be excused; if; we venture. tho opinion that the three-dsjys'.. show- is a; mistake. It imposes too great a sacrifice upon exhibitors, and too much responsibility upon the officials. The judging could be got through without.difin two days, arid the expense would, not be nearly so heavy as under existing conditions. We do not, of course,-wish to dictate to ouf friends across the range. We offer the suggestion in perfectly good faith.
