OUR NEW COURTHOUSE.
From an external aspec.t the new Oourthouso is Masterton is a "thing of beauty." It cannot be a "joy.ior ever" to Judges, Magistrates, legal gehtlemen and press representatives until the internal arrangements are improved. "At present the acoustic properties of the Court-room are such that it is'impossible to hear the evidence of witnesses at a greater distance than a few feet from the wit-. neSs box. This is distinctly annoying to all concerned. The expenditure of pounds would remedy matters. If ;the interior' walla were lined with green baize, the sound would not reverberate as it does at present. A jqint representation on the matter to ihd Justice Department might induce an alteration.
