The N. Z. Loan and Mercantile Co. Ltd iincl reduced report having their weekly s.:lo in the P. F. A. yard;; yesterday, when they offered a. good yarding of sheep and cattle of all sorts; the attendance of buyers on business bent was very noticeable by the keen spirited bidding throughout the sale, •nearly every lot changing hands at prices in excess of vendors ideas. .Hoggets sold at (small) 0* lOd to 12s 6d, (medium to lis !)d, fat ewes we tilers 19s 2d, yearling steers£2 18s to £ls 2s. yearling heifers £1 -is to £i 15s 2yr empty heifers .£4 5s to £5 os, heifers in calf £0 to £S 17s (>d. Mo its .Tames Macintosh and Co. report having held their usunl weekly sale in their Masterton (\\nipoiin) Sale Yards on Wednesday 30th October, when they offered 470 sheep and 1 pen of cattle. Being in a way ;in off jdn.v, owing to the Spring Cattle Sale teing held the day before, there was a small attendance, but those present were there for Ivusiness, consequently bidding was brisk and we are pleased to report a total clearance at the following rates: —Woolly hoggets 15s 0(1. woolly ewe hoggets 18s, ewes with lambs. 19s, 19s 3d to 22s Id. Forward empty ewes 16s 7d. Empty store ewes 14s 4d. Dairy heifers (empty) £4. Messrs Dalgctv and Company report having offered a good entry of all classes of cattle at their Annual Cattic Fair in the Solway Yards on the 29th instant. Competition was keen throughout, and with the exception of one pen, we hnd a clearance at prices which must be considered highly satisfactory to vendors. The following is the list of prices realised: — Three year bullocks £(5 15s. to £7 7s 6d. Three year sters (best lines) £4 10-£4 IGs to £5. Inferior sorts- £3 17s 6d. Fat and forward cows £5 to £5 8s 6d. Empty heifors station linos to £4 12s. Store cows £3 Bs. YearlJ ing steers £2 IGs to £3 15s.

Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Johnsonville sale as follows: —A good yarding of bullocks, and prime sheep came forward. Bullocks met a rather dragging sale, hut sheep sold well at- late rates. Prime heavy bullocks £ll 10s to £ll 77s (3d. primo bullocks £lO 15s to £ll us, lighter £lO to £lO 7s 6d, vealers 26s to 37s fid. extra prime shorn wethers 10s 6d to 20s, prime woolly wether?. 26s 3d, extra prime heavy owes 255, prime ewes 24s 4d. prime sliom ewe s 16s 9d, prime Tamhs 74b 9d to 15s 3d, lighter 13s 6d to 14b Id.
