MASTERTGX CATTLE FAIR
Mossrs -Abraham and Williams, Limited, report on their cattle fair 'Kelt! at Sohvay Yards yesterday, as follows:—We had an exceptionally heavy yarding, our entry alone comprising upwards of two thousand head!, mostly straight lineS of tvclL bred station, cattle of good quality, the bullocks being well grown and' in good condition. The attendance was ex-J-ccptionally large, buyers from distant districts being prominent, and' bidding at auction animate, with the result we have to 'report a total clearance of prices in excess,of latemarket rates. -A feature of the sale: was the drafting of the cattle, vendors being highly complimented by buyers on the various lots placed, before them. Thosale commencedwith the Annedale" Station bullocks.. 40 head very forward sappy, 3 and 1 4-year, purchased by lly James MeKenzie at £8 10s. Then followed! the entry on behalf of Mr Hugh H.. Beetiiam, Brancepeth (a lino of 70 f>year bullocks in very forward condition), making £9, the purchaser bein/* Mr D. Buchanan. (39 4-year bullocks, on behalf of same vV'Midor, foil to the bid of Mr Holmes Warren at £7 17s 6d; while 84 station bred Hereford cross bullocks, which stood! out on their own for quality, were secured by Mr .Tames MeDougall, Pirinoa, at £7 17s, and 77 3-year steers wore purchase;!. 1 by Mr P. Cooper, Gladstone, at £5 18s fid. A large entry of station heifers on behalf of Messrs Riddiford and Co., To Await© and Tableland Stations, showed plenty of quality, and on the whole sold at- prices which must be considered reasonable to buyers. f)0 3-year P.A. cross made £5 /is," 36 S.H. £4 to, £4 13s; 41 2-vear P.A. £4. 12s fid;. 07 B.H. 2-year, £4 : 52 P.A. ton tho', small side) made £3 15s 6d and £2' 12s Gel respectively. The yearlingsoffered on behalf of Mr William Hume, Pirinoa. were well grown and were- keenly < , oinneted for. 80. steers vna.d'e £-!, 30 .£•!■ 'ls. and the balance of 119. £3 IKs. fid; 116 heifers realised £2 17s 6d. and the small' steers and heifers £3 Lis and £2 Ms respectively. The speyed cows offered on behalfof Annedale Station were an extra good lot—l 6 of the fats making £710s, andl the balance £•) 10s fid to £69s 6d ; 21 averaging £7 2s 6d, and on the whole lot £6 14s. Mr Hugh Williams 3-year steers, from Kuraa Ivuma made £7 7s, and the "-years £5 ss. On behalf of other vendors :—Forward bullocks £7 to £7 17s Oil; 3vear steers £-5 'Jos to £0 10s,
