The death occurred at Onehunga on Monday night of Mr Ebenezer Gibbons, a very old resident of that town. The deceased wa-s born in. St. John's, Newfoundland, where his father carried on a large timber business, in addition to which he was the owner of vessels engager! in tho cod fisheries. In the fifties. Mr Gibbons, sen., came out to New Zeal-md with his wife and family in one of his own barques, which made a call at Liverpool to load sawmill machinery.
