A HAPPY RE-UNION.

CELEBRATING THE COMING OF - AGE. i MR M s CASELBERG HONOURED. : When the recent annual meeting of the Wairarapa Fanners' Co-operative Association, Ltd., was held in Masr tei-ton, it was mentioned that the Association was just coir.ing of age. The . occasion was not forgotten by the directors and the staff, and it was quietly arranged that on the first favourable opportunity the • managing director (Mr M. Caselberg) should he entertained. That opportunity presented itself yesterday afternoon, which, being Labour Day, was singularly appropriate. The whole of the heads of department assembled in the .1 | boardroom, in'company with certain of the directors, and a, most pleasant function was celebrated.' Mr F. C. Turnor, one of the directors, was voted to the chair, and, in a neat speech, I presented Mr Myer Caselberg with a solid silver salver, suitably 'inscribed, expressive of the directors' appreciation of the- services rendered by the managing director. Mr Tumor dwelt upon tho happy relations that had always'existed between the officers and crew of the vessel Avith which tliey were identified. Mr M. Caselberg expressed surprise at being the y - recipient of a present. He had been many years in business, and this was the first present he. had received. He regarded, the gift as sincere on account of the presence that day of so' many of his old servants. He saw before him men who had been in tho service of the Association for well over twenty-one yeans,.. Mr Sutton, for instance, had been.identified with him for over thirty years. Then

he saw Messrs Richards, KoccK<lt Walden ami other old servants of the firm. The relations between himself and the employees of the .Association had always been of a most cordial character. He believed the staff to be loyal, contented and trustworthy. The members of the board of directors were all good business men. and he thanked them-for-the honour they were .paying. hirii. Mr F. H. Sutton, the oldest employee of the firm, said'lie felt it a pleasure to be able to assist in placing on recordiithe.Jjigh-.tisteom in which Mr M. Caselberg was held as an employer and a friend. The staff bad felt that the attaining of the majority of the Association should not bo allowed to pass without some tribute •being paid to the founder of the institution. The development of the business was largely tho result of the sagacity and integrity of the managing director, of whom they were proud to do honour that day. He asked Mr Gaselberg to accept, on behalf of the staff, the following testimonial, which was enclosed i'h an album containing thft photographs of heads of departments : "To Myer Caselberg, Esq., J.P., ■Managing Director of Wairara pa Farmers' Co-operative Association, Ltd.
